From our initial consultation and the motivational evaluation tools that Sophie completed, we identified her as being in the Contemplation Phase (as explained in the transtheoretical model section of our first post). It had been pointed out to her that she often finds it difficult to ‘bounce back’ once an error is made during a game. Her coach had identified this to her prior to our first meeting. She was aware there was an issue, but had no idea how to change her actions and improve on this.
After further discussions with Sophie, she was able to come up with some actionable goals and objectives for herself to work towards her overall goal.

We helped Sophie to develop two SMART goals to help improve her resilience. A SMART needs to be
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Realistic
Time framed (6 weeks of our intervention)
After developing these SMART objectives Sophie came up with sub-objectives and activities to achieve these. This broke down the Goals into intermediate steps, therefore the goals were perceived to be more achievable.
