When we first met with Sophie, she filled out both a competitive state anxiety inventory and a performance profile. Results from both of these are as follows;
Cognitive Anxiety Score: 27/36
Somatic Anxiety Score: 16/36
Self-Confidence Score: 21/36

From these results we instantly determined that there were some issues regarding Sophie's self-confidence, self-efficacy, and her resilience.
As well as the performance profile and the competitive state anxiety inventory, we asked Sophie to complete an online personality test, which gives a measure of Costa and McCrae's (1992) big five personality traits. The percentile results generated from the online quiz are as follows;

A high score in extroversion indicates the person is sociable and outgoing. Sophie has scored 50/100 for this personality factor, meaning that she is often outgoing but can also be quiet and keep to herself at times.
A high score in emotional stability, with an inverted interpretation to the named factor - neuroticism by Costa and McCrae, means that the person is not reactive to situations and is not easily stressed. Sophie scored 62/100 and is therefore often calm in situations and does not misinterpret situations often.
A high score in agreeableness projects a persons level of optimism and friendliness. Sophie scored 56/100 for this factor and can therefore be seen as fairly optimistic and friendly towards others.
A high score in conscientiousness means that the person is careful/ organised/ diligent. Sophie scored within the middle range of this factor with 52/100. We can assume that the is careful with things at times but is not always organised.
A high score in intellect, named openness to experience by Costa and McCrae, are usually open to new and abstract ideas. Sophie scored 23/100 in this factor, and we can assume that she is fairly traditional and likes things to be conventional.
Sophie told us that her coach has discussed with her that she struggles to refocus herself after making an error during a game. She was aware of this issue but had no idea how to address it. Sophie said she was ready to work on the problem but she needed our help. We immediately identified that Sophie exhibited a Customer-type relationship with us.
What was next for us to do was to help Sophie to come up with some actionable strategies and plans for her to implement.
